We have a selection of shows which are available for performance as work in progress, partly script in hand, shows. At this stage, we’re offering these shows to institutions and audience interested in seeing these plays, on the understanding that they won’t be polished ‘finished’ works. We’re not looking for money, we’re looking for an audience who wants to see these works on stage. (Though we will take money if you’re offering!) These are plays for which we are not immediately looking to stage as traditional theatre shows for long runs, but wish to keep alive in the company memory. Get in touch via this form.

If you have an audience in the UK, for example students or other groups with a membership, and would like to host a performance, get in touch. We don’t need a large playing area for these shows, a largish room rather than a theatre space is ideal. We don’t require tech, we don’t need a professional set up, we just need a welcoming audience. Works in Progress 2026/27

The World and the Child – a late medieval/early Tudor morality play. Cast of two or more, depending on the version we bring. 50 minutes, plus discussion with the company, if your audience is interested in such things.

Gentleness and Nobility by John Heywood with John Rastell – a Tudor drama about the class system, where a noble man, a merchant and a worker argue about who can really be called a Gentleman. 1hr, plus discussion with the company, if your audience is interested in such things.

Thersites – a comedy about a braggart soldier, featuring a fight with a snail. This is the least prepared show at time of posting, but also the silliest.

Dame Sirth – a medieval text, told as a piece of interactive storytelling by multi award-winning performer Robert Crighton. Only about 30 minutes, but could be added to a mixed bill.

Robin Hood – additional short plays which could be added to a mixed bill of other works.

This is a little more complicated, but if you’d like a script in hand performance of any premodern play – or even another text that could be performed – then get in touch. We will need money from you for this, but there are ways to make it affordable – if you were happy for us to record the performance, then we could significantly cut the price. Otherwise, so long as it comes from before the closing of the theatres in 1642, and isn’t one of the 38 plays we don’t perform, then we are infinitely bribable. Get in touch via this form.
